WINE TIME 2012 Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Freemark Abbey is one of the most historic wineries in California dating all the way back to 1886. The winery was founded by one of the first women to make wine, Josephine Tychson, and the winery still stands on that location along Route 29 in St. Helena. Though ownership has changed many times over 130 years, the gorgeous stone winery built in 1889 still proudly stands. Today the winery is owned by Jackson Family Wines and making better wines than ever. Throughout the years Freemark Abbey has acquired grapes from the most sought after vineyards in Napa along the famed Rutherford Bench. Cabernet Sauvignon has always been the King of California grape varietals. With perfect sun-drenched growing conditions the hearty Cabernet thrives! The 2012 Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the best deals in Napa Cabernet. The blend uses 75% Cabernet Sauvignon with four classic Bordeaux varietals (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec). Aged for 24 months in oak, this is a big, opulent wine with loads of dark fruit, chocolate, cedar wood and spice. The 2012 Freemark Abbey Cabernet is California at its best. Its getting big reviews from the press including 93 points from critic Robert Parker. Wines with this pedigree usually fetch $75 on up, so Im very happy the pricing is very fair and we can sell it in Sevilles Wine Shoppe for $29.99. So the next time youre grilling that big ribeye and want the perfect accompaniment, this is your wine!
