� KEMO�MASSEY ��SPECIAL�TO�THE�PENSACOLA�NEWS�JOURNAL ��NOVEMBER�17, 2010 Prosecco is a great way to have a high quality sparkling wine at an affordable price. The folks at Oriel have named this wine �365,� hinting that this wine can be enjoyed year-round, making every day a celebration. While I do not see myself drinking this wine every day, I certainly look forward to enjoying this wine over the holidays. It makes a decidedly good aperitif, and pairs well with the usual suspects and omnium-gatherum of holiday dishes, including Aunt Esther�s green bean casserole. The Prosecco grape Glera, grown in the esteemed Veneto region in Northwest region of Italy, has several designated areas which are exceptional, the �Valdobbiadene� and �Conegliano.� These are steep vineyards that are just below the alpine tree lines, and the quality fruit produced here, and its consistency, is remarkable. From the Oriel Prosecco, you can expect flavors that range from melon and white pear to almond and � oddly enough � toast points, seeing as how this wine sees no oak, and is contained in 100 percent stainless steel until fermented.
