15 Chapoutier Ctes-du-Rhne Belleruche Ros
Ros season is upon us! Ros is fantastic to drink year round, but it really comes into its own during the freshness of springtime. Ross are fashionable, quite tasty and pair well with a variety of food. If you ever have a tough time pairing food with a wine, it probably will go well with Ros.
First, lets start the story straight about what were talking about. Ros is a dry wine made with red grapes but the skin of the grape only touches the wine for a very short period producing a blush colored wine. If youre expecting sweet white zinfandel, youre in for a disappointment as true Ross are not chock full of residual sugar. They look pink but if you close your eyes you swear you are drinking a chilled, light bodied red wine.
Ross are made from all different grapes from all over the world but I thoroughly enjoy the South of France Ross made predominately with Grenache and Syrah. They have a gorgeous light pink color, notes of melons and rose petals, and are super refreshing on a hot day.
We just got in a Ros from one of the top winemakers in France, Michel Chapoutier. The 2015 Chapoutier Belleruche Ros is from the Ctes-du-Rhne and is a 3 grape blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Cinsault. It has a beautiful pale salmon color, aromas of raspberries and cherries and tastes lively and fresh in the mouth. Try this wine at your next barbeque and youll be impressed at all the positive comments you get.
The Chapoutier Belleruch Ros is available in our Wine Shoppe for $9.99 (A STEAL!). Think Paris in the spring!
