� 2012 Gumbo Cook-off Results March 26, 2012 The Annual Gumbo Ya~Ya sponsored by Seville Quarter was held on Saturday, March 24, 2012. Over $2000 was donated to the local Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northwest Florida organization. The Cook-off was coordinated by Paula Shell, Executive Director of BB/BS and Buck Mitchell from Seville Quarter. Fifteen Amateur and Professional teams competed for bragging rights for the �Best Gumbo in Pensacola. Each team�s Gumbo was judged on taste, smell and consistency and trophies were awarded to the top winners. Winners in the Judges�s Category were: 1st place � Krewe of Seville, Cathy Badini, Captain 2nd place � Krewe de Marginaux � Keelea LeJeune, Captain 3rd place � Voodoo Gumbo � Issac Papillion, Captain In the Showmanship Category (decoration, theme and spirit) the winners were: 1st place � Krewe of Seville, Cathy Badini � Captain 2nd place � Pensacola Beach Elks Lodge #497 Gumbo Yats �Gumbo Finger� � Dennis Caire, Captain 3rd place � Galley Krewe, Halley Lovato � Captain And in the coveted People�s Choice Competition: 1st place � Pensacola Beach Elks Lodge #497 Gumbo Yats �Gumbo Finger� � Dennis Caire, Captain 2nd place � Krewe of Seville, Cathy Badini � Captain 3rd place � Krewe of DePez, Chris Price � Captain Next Cook-off event: July 18, 2012 � Crab Cake Cook-Off to benefit the�ARC�Gateway.
