Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest Celebration

Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest Celebration

Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest

The great Chico, California Brewery Sierra Nevada is doing something different this year to celebrate Oktoberfest. This year’s Märzen style beer is collaboration between Sierra Nevada and the highly regarded German Brewery Brauhaus Riegele.

Brauhaus Riegele from Augsburg knows a thing or two about German Beer having been brewing since 1386 and is on its 27th Generation Master Brewer, Dr. Sebastian Priller-Riegele. Amazing!

Sierra Nevada plans on choosing a new German Brewery each year to collaborate with. On a spring trip to Germany, Sierra Nevada Brewers visited Brauhaus Riegele to team up with the recipe for their Oktoberfest Beer to be brewed at Sierra Nevada. The final result combines the best of both American and German Beer cultures.

Traditionally Oktoberfest style beers are heavy, malty and with a slight sweet caramel flavor. The Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest is a more balanced and drier style. It has the German influenced biscuit aromas and caramel overtones but also the California nuances of hops in the background; producing a beer that’s crisper and easier to drink. A true collaboration of two great brewing families.

Come on down to End O’The Alley for a pint of Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest to get the best of both worlds. Prost!
