National Margarita Day
Sure, it’s a made-up holiday, just like all the hundreds of other of food-related celebrations “days, weeks, even months” that clog the calendar. But so what? Feb. 22’s designation as National Margarita Day or the birthday of the margarita, 2/22/1922. One of the biggest celebrants of National Margarita Day is Seville Quarter in Pensacola Florida. We serve thousands of Margaritas every month, said Seville Quarter Marketing Director Buck Mitchell. Mitchell added that a great Margarita is always the way to start off Happy Hour. Nationally, Americans consume 185,000 margaritas per hour. Seville Quarter will have fun with National Margarita Day and will host a Margarita Recipe Contest, with the winning drink being served at all the bars inside Seville Quarter on Feb. 22. Also guests whose name is Margarita or Rita qualify for their first Margarita for FREE. For more info go to www.sevillequarter.com.
